SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dancing Phoenix

A bird of flame dances in the sky.

Ink, colored in Photoshop. A partner piece to Dzur Mountain. I may yet work this one over in the same fashion.

wow! It's eyes look as if they really have a soul ... You obviously either put a lot of effort into making these amazing works of art, or you are such an amazing artist that you don't need effort ... um ... I don't know if that made any sense, but then again, no words can explain how great your art is ... I'm jealous ... lol

I think it's a really good picture, and although its not how i imagine a phoenix (physically burning), it looks BRILLIANT.
Good job!

:-) Katherine J. Grantham replies: "Thanks! Glad you like the picture despite it not matching your idea of a phoenix. Your visualization is just as valid as mine. I just personally feel it would be a bit awkward for the poor bird to be flaming ALL the time. I picture the power used judiciously for defense, offense, hunting (for predatory phoenixes), hatching eggs, cleansing the world of evil, things like that."

Why is this not mods??!!!? Its so pretty! The colors are amazing. Ive never seen a phoenix quite like this one, and I really like it!

:-) Katherine J. Grantham replies: "Heh, the mods may have had even better art the day ths came up. But thanks for the thought!"

It's a very nice picture, but it seems a little strange to see a phoenix that happy...
